Autumn 2013

Amelia started Senior Kindergarten this September.  She is taking the transition into French all in her stride.

She goes to kindergarten for the morning and spends the afternoon with the family.

We're into our fall routine of one parent lecturing while the other takes care of the girls.
It was wonderful to have mama kiwi drop by and join our daily comings and goings.

She arrived just in time to enjoy some sunny Fall weather and...

to celebrate her first born's 40th birthday!

It should be noted that Jamie did not act his age for his surprise 80's dance party!

Our birthday icebreakers and kiwi treasures are always welcome as the weather turns cold.

Mama kiwi jumped on a bike and soaked up the Ottawa sights and autumn colours.

She was very busy biking, baking and babysitting for two weeks.

We've been watching the last blooms from the garden...

the berries,

and leaves begin their transition.

Amelia enjoyed a morning off school to take mama kiwi to the Gatineau hills for a walk.

A view of parliament hill from the museum of civilization.

The Carp fair was a fun weekend to ride merry go rounds,

see all the animals,

and practice milking a cow with mama!

MOO!

We ate out on the back deck and enjoyed BBQs because the weather was so warm in early October.

Mama shucking corn with the neighbours...

for a potluck meal.

We took walks after dinner and

crunched through leaves before we said bye-bye to mama kiwi!
(We're so glad you came by for a visit before your long travel home)

Week day play at the local parks...

Weekend visits with friends...

The season of transitioning from T-shirts,

to jackets.

Baking with apples and pears.

Raking the carpet of leaves off our backyard.

This morning Jamie and Corinne enjoyed a rare bike date for Sunday brunch.

mmm!  Sweet and savoury
(Actually Andy Baynes - you'd LOVE this... sweet dutch baby (apple pudding) with aged cheddar cheese and pork rib, drizzled in maple syrup...pretty trendy eh?)

Stopping for silly hat shots because we are that crazy couple who wear dorky hats
and bright red pants!

We're cruising towards winter and so we are savouring the days in between.
