Coming out of hibernation...

After her first month, Georgia could best be described as... perfect angel by day; feisty tiger by night.
She sleeps well, feeds like a fiend and is quite adorable (no, we're not biased...)
Although many people comment on how much she looks like her sister, we also see the differences and have been on a steep learning curve as parents once again. What worked for Amelia does not apply with Georgia and our evening routine now involves swaddling, rocking and taking warm baths.
After a particularly late night of soothing rituals, Corinne found herself blurry eyed at the grocery store. Georgia was sleeping in her car seat, perched beside her bright eyed sister who loves to chat about produce and greet each passing customer. We caught the eye of a mother who couldn't resist taking a peek at our three week old and having a laugh with Amelia. After her praise of "how well mom is doing, being out and about and looking so content", Corinne admitted that life was short on sleep and a bit of a blur. On our way to the checkout, the lovely women returned with a bouquet of tulips to brighten our day. It is wonderful to be struck with the kindness of a stranger. She said that we reminded her of the wonderful time of motherhood that she so fondly looks back on now that her children have fl0wn from the nest. Needless to say, her kind gesture had a huge impact on Corinne's mood and made her new routine all the more enjoyable for the days that followed.
Spring is just around the corner and that means that all of Ottawa is bursting at the seams to get outside. Jamie is in training for a half marathon and is busy tuning up all the bikes, between the piles of marking he needs to get through. Corinne is trying out the new set of wheels - a double stroller - on the bike trails. Spring has sprung!
Our favorite pictures this month would have to be those of Amelia taking over "tummy time" with Georgia...
