Taking a break...

We arrived at Uncle Ant's to find the door open, a painted welcome sign and the sound of the stream inviting us to sit down and relax.

With a beautiful setting at the foot of the Tararua mountains, friendly animals, and its own stream running through the back yard, Ant's place exudes peace and tranquility.

A three year old's paradise....

There were chooks to feed...

A swing overlooking the stream...

Tricycles!,
...and an enchanted garden to have picnics in.

Not to mention an uncle that sings songs, plays flutes and collects the most wonderful things to look at!

Our little budda fit right in!

Jamie found some treasures in some old cases stored away many years ago.

It took days to sort through a lifetime of photos, letters and memories.

It was a perfect time to meet up with an old childhood friend, Stig, and chat about the good ol' days.

Along with catching up with his family and their two cuties.

The weather called for a last day bike ride.

While daddy packed the car like a jenga pro,

mommy and baby G soaked up the scenery and fine weather.

Off went mama kiwi, uncle Ant and Amelia...

to meet the neighbours,

feed the ponies,

and learn about "poohsticks"

(uncle Ant's version!)

Amelia had a wonderful taste of New Zealand nature and enjoyed uncle Ant's beautiful ecosystem.

We all felt we could easily adopt this niche!
