waiting out a winter...

This winter has been so cold. Even a quick walk around the creek can freeze the toes!

Which means somedays we just wear our crazy hats indoors and cabin fever sets in.

We try to take trips to the museum to escape.

Also, the basement becomes a workshop for all sorts of projects.  Jamie has been busy setting up a home theater system for some great movie watching and the ladies have been making art projects together.

Georgia's favorite thing to do is cut.  She hones her scissor skills by cutting piles of paper.
So, Amelia and I took her colourful snippets and made a canvas collage.

Then Corinne made a stencil of a bird and Amelia covered it with paint.
Et Voila, a mix media spring bird!

The art studio is always a (creative) mess!

A few watercolour pictures are making their way to Pukawa for Ant's Poem of Hilda's trunk.
Amelia and Georgia loved the idea of a toy trunk awaiting their next NZ adventure.

 Georgia update:
Although she's the baby of the family.

This little girl is quickly approaching her 3rd birthday.

She likes her belly button (and showing you its location)
She would wear her flamingo bathing suit everyday (even if it's -30 C outside)
She asks for tuna "chanwiches" every lunch hour
She is always singing and has a great set of lungs

She asks for stories morning, noon and night.

She plays hard and still has great naps in the afternoon (this routine is well appreciated!)

Amelia update:
Amelia is 5 and likes to say things like:
"I'm going to be famous"
"I'm going to be a princess with wings"
"I'm the boss of me"
"Georgia do you want me to be your sister or a witch"
"I love you so much it hurts!"

Amelia has a great imagination and see's things like a "giraffe" in the creek!

Quick to laugh...and quick to cry...

but always ready to enjoy the fun.  Like when her tongue matches her dress!

Gee-gee and Me-me make great sisters.
